Programme Overview

NUS Pharmaceutical Science is distinct from the Pharmacy degree — it focuses on the science behind drugs rather than clinical practice. The programme trains you in drug discovery and development, pharmaceutical chemistry, formulation science, regulatory affairs, and the commercial side of the pharmaceutical industry. You will NOT qualify as a licensed pharmacist (that requires the separate BPharm programme), but you will be deeply prepared for careers in R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory roles within pharma and biotech. The programme is delivered by experienced academics from the Department of Pharmacy with contributions from Chemistry, Life Sciences, and the Centre of Regulatory Excellence at Duke-NUS. With Singapore’s booming pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, graduates are highly employable. This is a direct admission programme with a small class size, providing close faculty interaction. Singapore's only pharmacy degree training medication experts for hospitals, pharmaceutical industry, and regulatory roles. Covers pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, and clinical practice with extensive clinical placements.
