Visionet Associates Pte. Ltd., operating as Oak Education ("we", "us", "our"), is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) of Singapore. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal data.

2. Personal Data We Collect

We may collect the following personal data:

  • Name, email address, phone number, WeChat ID
  • Child's name, grade level, school
  • Payment information (processed by third-party payment providers — we do not store credit card details)
  • Assessment results and learning progress
  • Device information and usage data when you visit our website
  • Any other information you voluntarily provide to us

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data for:

  • Providing and managing our educational services
  • Processing payments and managing your account
  • Communicating about courses, schedules, and updates
  • Sending assessment results and progress reports
  • Improving our services and website
  • Complying with legal obligations

4. Disclosure of Data

We may share your personal data with:

  • Our teachers and educational partners (for service delivery)
  • Payment service providers (Fomo Pay, Stripe) for payment processing
  • Cloud service providers (Supabase, Vercel) for data storage and website hosting
  • Google (for authentication services if you use Google login)
  • Apple (for authentication services if you use Sign in with Apple, and app distribution through the App Store)
  • Government authorities when required by law

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data Protection

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal data, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS)
  • Secure cloud storage with access controls
  • Regular security reviews

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable laws. When no longer needed, data will be securely deleted or anonymized.

9. Children's Privacy

Our services are designed for families and children. We collect children's information (name, grade, school) only with parental consent and solely for the purpose of providing educational services.

10. Our Mobile Apps: OakTutor and Oak Vocab

OakTutor and Oak Vocab are our iOS apps. They are published on the App Store by 1001532201 Ontario Inc., Toronto, and use the same Oak Education account as this website, so this Privacy Policy applies to them. Tutoring booked through OakTutor is provided by Visionet Associates Pte. Ltd., Singapore. In the apps we handle:

  • Account: when you sign in with email, Apple or Google we receive your email address, and the name, phone number, WeChat ID and child's details you choose to add. This is the same profile you see on oakedu.sg.
  • OakTutor: your trial lesson requests and bookings, and the messages you send our office in chat.
  • Oak Vocab: your study plan, which words you have studied and when each is due for review, the words saved in your notebook, your practice sessions, and any word you report as wrong (with an optional note). Signed in, this is kept in your account and shared with the vocabulary tools on oakedu.sg. Signed out, it stays on your phone, and is added to your account if you later sign in.
  • Settings such as language, daily reminder time and audio auto-play. Daily reminders are scheduled on your phone; we do not send them.

The apps show no advertising, do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and use no third-party analytics. You can delete your account at any time in either app under Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, chats, trial requests and vocabulary data; payment records are kept for accounting with your personal details removed.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
