Programme Overview
NUS Data Science and Economics (DSE) is a cross-disciplinary programme (XDP) that tightly integrates data science and economics into a single coherent degree — this is not the same as doing a double major in DSA and Economics. The programme is specifically designed for the era of Big Data in economics: you learn to apply computational and statistical tools to analyse economic systems, financial markets, and policy questions with precision. The curriculum covers foundations in computer science, mathematics, and statistics, then builds up to industry-linked integrated courses in digital currencies, FinTech, and the digital economy — some co-taught with industry experts. The capstone project requires you to apply integrated knowledge to real-world issues in economics, finance, or public policy. DSE is a direct admission programme under CHS, meaning you apply for it specifically (not declare it later). If you want the analytical rigour of economics combined with the technical power of data science in one integrated package, this is stronger than doing the two separately.

Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level
- •Very good pass in H2 Mathematics. Direct admission programme.
