Programme Overview
NUS Life Sciences (formerly Biological Sciences) offers broad training across the biological sciences — from molecular biology and genetics to ecology and evolutionary biology. The curriculum is designed to give you a strong foundation in the first two years, then let you specialise in areas like biomedical science, ecology and conservation, or molecular and cell biology. What makes this programme strong is NUS’s research infrastructure: Singapore invests heavily in biomedical and life sciences, and undergraduates can participate in research at world-class institutes like the Mechanobiology Institute and the Tropical Marine Science Institute. If you are considering medical school, pharmaceutical research, or conservation biology, Life Sciences provides a rigorous scientific foundation. It pairs well with a second major in Chemistry, Data Science and Analytics, or Psychology. Study life from molecules to ecosystems, with options in genomics, ecology, marine biology, and computational biology. Singapore's Biopolis research hub and pharmaceutical industry create strong research career opportunities.
