Programme Overview
NUS Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) trains you to understand, design, and create the materials that underpin modern technology — from semiconductors and nanomaterials to biomedical implants and sustainable materials. The curriculum covers the structure, properties, processing, and performance of metals, ceramics, polymers, and composites. Singapore’s semiconductor, electronics, and advanced manufacturing industries create strong demand for MSE graduates. The department offers specialisations in areas like AI in MSE, Biomedical Materials, Renewable Energy Materials, Microelectronics and Quantum Materials, Nanostructured Materials, and Robotics.
