Programme Overview
NUS Architecture is consistently ranked among the top architecture programmes globally and the best in Asia. The BA (Architecture) is a four-year design-intensive programme built around a studio-based curriculum — you learn by designing, drawing, model-making, and critically engaging with the built environment. The first three years focus on foundation design studios, architectural history and theory, building technology, and representation skills. The fourth year allows specialisation and can lead directly into the concurrent Master of Architecture (M.Arch) programme, which is required for professional registration as an architect in Singapore. What makes NUS Architecture stand out is its tropical and Asian focus — you study architecture in the context of dense, equatorial cities, which is increasingly relevant globally. Admission requires a portfolio review and interview. If you are passionate about design, spatial thinking, and shaping the physical world, this is one of the strongest programmes in the region.
